Martin Livingston is an accomplished public relations professional adept at cutting through complex issues, clarifying corporate messages and crafting compelling stories.
With more than 25 years of experience in strategic communications planning and issues management, Martin has developed and implemented corporate communications programs for a diverse range of organizations including Western Forest Products Ltd., BC Wildlife Federation, Geoscience BC, the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia, HSBC Investment Management Inc., Ethical Funds Inc., Westminster Savings Credit Union, and Coast Hotels & Resorts, among others. Martin’s expertise encompasses land-use issues, media relations, crisis communications, conflict resolution, managing protests and labour disputes. A veteran of BC’s “War in the Woods,” he was instrumental in managing public perceptions on behalf of Western Forest Products to successfully counter activist protests, blockades and an international product boycott in the 1990s.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, Martin served as Vice President, Marketing and Communications for Vancouver Foundation responsible for all integrated marketing communications for Canada’s largest community foundation, which annually grants $46 million to registered charities across Canada and manages approximately $870 million in assets. He also worked as Director of Investor Relations for a TSX/Nasdaq listed biotechnology company in Vancouver and served for five years as Vice President of NATIONAL Public Relations’ Vancouver office.
